Class - 2-day Overbust Corset Class.
July 13 & 14, 2013. 10:00-4:00 @ Evanston.
The object of this class is to learn how to fit a corset mock-up and build a corset using the double layer construction technique. This includes applying a busk, measuring for and choosing bones, marking and setting grommets. The class starts with a commercial pattern and adjusting it to your body measurements, making a mock-up and fitting it with the teachers guidance, transferring the changes to the original pattern (so you can make your next corset without a fitting partner) and putting the corset together. This two day workshop is fairly intense. Please note: you will likely not complete your corset in class time, but you will have a pattern that fits you, a partially complete corset and the knowledge to fiish it at home. Class size is extremely limited. Register now so you don’t get shut out! The instructor recommends you bring your own sewing machine, so you know how to adjust the stitches and change the thread without the instructor’s assistance.
