Beautiful and hardy, its pink buds morph into a profusion of snowy white blossoms in April or May, while orange-red fruits attract birds and cling to the tree throughout the winter. With glossy dark green leaves that turn a dull shade of yellow in the fall, this tree has been described as having an upright, spreading, rounded, dense crown; it can be found in multi-stemmed or single trunk variations. While it thrives in full sun with moist, acidic, well-drained soil, the Snowdrift Crabapple tree can also tolerate mildly alkaline, occasionally wet or dry, and clay soils. Found in hardiness zones 4 to 8 in the United States, this fabulous flowering tree is a year-round "bird magnet" that grows at a medium rate and reaches maturity at 15' to 20' in height & spread.
