For many years, Giesela ran the large remnant Room in the flagship Vogue Fabrics. Organized, personable, and loved by many, her retirement in 1991 meant so much more than losing the woman who provided everyone with candies from her tin under the counter. But the sadness was cushioned as her daughter, Beatrice, joined the staff. Many of you know Bea from the sewing shows we attend or from speaking with her on the phone regarding your orders. Bea has kindly given us this coveted family recipe for a German cookie that was a favorite of her brother, Reinhard. She also tells us that these cookies are supposed to be crescent shaped, but her family would eat them so quickly that Bea started to roll them as balls to save time!
