Corset Busk - Spoon, 14" (35.6 cm) with 7 knobs. #91-8555-14. Priced per busk.
Busks, for those of you who have not heard the term, are metal clasps that close the centre front of a corset. Opening busks did not come into use until the mid 1800’s. A corset busk consists of two long pieces of steel, one with steel knobs and the other one steel loops/eyes. The busk pieces are sewn into the corset on either side of the centre front, lacing is still used in the back or sides but the busk allows getting into and out of the corset by oneself. Stainless steel, "spoon" shaped busk. Spoon shape is evident both profile and frontal view. "Spoon" bowl accommodates the wearer’s stomach both in the added girth and the convex face at the base of the busk. This European busk is from Farthingales, North America's leader in excellent quality steel corset products for long term use. Corset Busk - Spoon, 14" (35.6 cm) with 7 knobs. #91-8555-14. Priced per busk.

Covered Boning . 1/4" plastic flexible boning with 100% cotton cover. Width of boning with the cotton cover is 9/16". Priced per yard. Available in white only right now.
This covered boning is great for adding stability in dresses that have straps, but for strapless dresses, corsets and bustiers, Linda Sparks from Farthingales recommends spiral or steel boning for optimal support...remember, fabric stretches while you wear it, and having the right boning makes a huge difference. Make sure to pick up a copy of her book "The Basics Of Corset Building" for more important information.
When you need to custom cut several sizes of spiral boning for theater or opera costumes, this coil of spiral steel boning for corsets is the wholesale way to go. Flexible front to back and side to side.
