Lore Prima and Lore Seconda (VF221-11), are 100% cotton rib knits from the same American mill that brought us the Hatha rib knits in last year’s Early Spring catalog.  Lore Prima is a micro-rib knit with a hand that is so soft, it feels like rayon.  Lore Seconda is a 2x1 rib knit that can be used as your neckband and cuffs, but it will also be lovely as a focus fabric.

We found a stretch bubble crepe georgette in a larger floral print with the same hue of dark pink as the previous ditzy floral (VF221-13).  Lore Blossoms is lightweight, and has some surprising stretch for built-in ease. Sew this like you would any lightweight woven with drape for a blouse, lined skirt, or lined dress.

Mystère Paisley rayon challis is soft to the touch, light in weight, and drapes well.  The clay color is muted, and accented by an orange-red, gold, white and black.  Enjoy wearing this as a top or a scarf any time of the year.  It looks like it as milled for our terra cotta sandwashed rayon poplin (VF221-19), but it is just a happy coincidence.  You should totally wear them together!

From Telio & Cie comes this wonderful French Terry Knit made from a bamboo rayon.  Enjoy wearing Mystique Mauve as a sweater, hoodie, skirt, jogger pants, or knit top.  It is thicker than other French terry knits on the market, but it is still so soft and has great drape. Bamboo grows quickly, so it is more eco-friendly to use in manufacturing than tree pulp, which is traditional for making rayon.

Hawai’i Intrigue is a colorful knit featuring stripes of red, steel, celery, mango and beige that undulate with the knit pattern.  The reverse has a cool look as well, so don’t hesitate to incorporate that as your contrast accents.It is lightweight enough for sewing all manner of all-way stretch knit tops, and substantial enough for wearing as a knit dress or skirt.

We receive many requests for all natural fibers, especially cottons, and we did try to fill our Summer 2022 Catalog with as many as we could muster. Hawai’i Dew is an all cotton micro-rib knit that will brighten up your day for sure.  If you have a swatch of this, you can feel how soft it is. We picked up two “Waikiki Cotton Poplin” prints from the fashion division of Robert Kaufman for our Summer 2022 fashion fabrics catalog.  Deities Maui features beige hibiscus, pineapples, leaves, huts, and water on navy blue, while Deities Kona (VF223-12) is the same print in red and white. These are light enough to wear as tops and tightly woven enough to be worn as summer shorts, Capris, or a skirt.

We tossed into our Summer 2022 catalog Volcano Blooms for good measure, with its various shades of blue flowers.  Like our other 66" wide, rayon/spandex, all-way stretch knit fashion fabrics, this is super soft, has wonderful fluidity, and is breathable. When sewing these lightweight knits, we recommend you use the Design Plus Superfine Fusible Bias Tape to easily stabilize your seams and neckline.  And don’t forget to use fresh ball point size 10 needles for the best results.
