Make items to donate to those in need!

We have created a page listing charitable organizations that accept home-crafted items for donation - sewn, quilted, knit, and crocheted. Click HERE to jump to that page.

These blankets were made by the 8th graders at Sunset Ridge School in Northfield, IL and dropped off to our retail store in Evanston.  Vogue Fabrics is a proud donation center for Project Linus.

Question:  Has Vogue Fabrics Moved Yet?
Answer:  No, not yet.  Stop into our retail store on Main Street for great Moving Sales!

Estimated move will take place early September.  Subject to change.  Check back here for updates.

Our retail store on Main Street is still open for shopping.
Hours are 9:00am - 5:30pm - Closed Wednesdays and Sundays.

Keep your eye on this space.  When we do move, we will post information here.  We will close both locations for a couple days to accomplish the move, set up the new retail area inside our wholesale warehouse, and get the staff acclimated to their new surroundings.  We will then be open Monday - Saturday, 9:00 - 5:30.

Soft Re-opening of the Retail Store:  We are taking shopping reservations for Sewing Professionals (dressmakers, tailors, dry cleaners, etc.) who are registered with us and have our Vogue Fabrics Professional Discount Card.  Click here for details.

Sewing Machine Repair:  Jim is back in action!  If you dropped off a machine prior to the retail store shut down, please Contact Us with your repair tag number, name and phone number, and we will let you know how and when to pick up your machine.  If you have a machine you want to drop-off for repair, click HERE for that info page.

Re-opening??? Thank you to everyone who has been reaching out and asking "when are you re-opening?"  The answer:  Not Yet....  The owners are working in conjunction with the staff regarding a date to re-open, but it will occur later in the summer.  As long as our staff members are healthy and safe, and our operations are running smoothly with the pick-up and shipping options, we will remain closed to walk-in clients throughout June and most likely throughout July as well.  All things are subject to change.

SEWING PROFESSIONALS:  If you are in need of supplies and you do not see the items you want on our website, please contact us via the Contact Us form and tell us what you need.  We will either add the items to the site, or we will try to make arrangements for you to have a private time to get what you need from the retail store.  This would be limited to people and companies that are already registered with us as a sewing professional or dry cleaner (you would have our Discount Card with a four digit number in the bottom corner of the card), and you would need to let us know what you wanted to purchase that you couldn't find on the website. We will work with you as best we can.

Due to Covid-19 the USPS is experiencing delays in their posted shipping times. This is due to closures and adjusted hours of their post offices, distribution centers and mail carriers. Please keep this in mind when you are chosing your shipping method at checkout.

The City of Evanston has allowed us to bring back a couple staff members to fill orders as long as we strictly follow the protocols set forth in a safety guideline.  This will help us fill your orders quicker.

A giant shipment of Elastic is arriving April 10 to our warehouse.  We hope it will have the 1/4" and 1/8" so we can fill all of those orders.  We will even come in on Saturday to ship out as many orders as quickly as possible.

We continue to update the website with current inventories of select in-demand items like elastics, interfacing and bias tapes. We are continuing to receive shipments.

Are you making masks?  Not sure what to buy?  We created a page with links to the most popular items people are purchasing right now.  You can find instructions on how to sew a cloth mask on the CDC website.

These would be cloth masks for you, your family, friends, and to donate to shelters and places in need.  Not sure who needs what?  The American Sewing Guild  along with the Sewing & Craft Alliance have created a site to match up facilities in need with sewists:

To all who are sewing for the health care industry -
 THANK YOU!!!

We have been overwhelmed by the number of people who have "suited up" to sew masks, gowns and manufacture face shields during this global pandemic.  You are the heroes behind the front line heroes.

We are expecting a truckload of elastics this week, and we will fill the oldest orders first.  After all the orders have been filled, we will update the website with any excess stock so you can order if you need to.

We are also working on getting additional supplies of flannel, Kona cotton and serger threads to what we already have on the shelves.  If you need larger quantities, please use the contact us form on our site to let us know what you are making so we can offer in-stock alternatives if we do not have the item you want in stock.

The State of Illinois is asking people to shelter in place (Stay-at-home order) in an attempt to flatten the curve of the COVID19 pandemic.

The owners of Vogue Fabrics will continue to fill online orders on an as needed basis, especially for hospitals, organizations, and people sewing masks and gowns for health care workers, as well as fleece blankets for the displaced homeless, and other such causes.  Starting Sunday, March 22, there will be NO walk-in business at either of our locations.  All orders must placed online and will be shipped. Limited Pick Up options will be available at the warehouse on Hartrey.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.  We wish you all the best of health. - The Sussman Family

Dear Valued Customers,

Vogue Fabrics is closely monitoring developments and recommendations on COVID-19 from the CDC, federal, state and local agencies, and other health organizations, and we are actively following those guidelines to the best of our abilities. We care about our employees and their families, as well as our customers, their families, and members of our communities. As this situation evolves we are striving to make good decisions that will help keep all of us safe.

We are keeping our employees informed and encouraging them to closely monitor their own health and well-being; while being vigilant about frequent hand washing and all the other recommendations from the CDC. In both of our facilities, we are taking steps to clean, sanitize, and provide the appropriate supplies needed.

Any staff member who has requested time-off for child care, elder care, or out of an abundance of caution has been granted a leave of absence without question.  For those who rely on a paycheck and are in good health, we are remaining open to fill phone and internet orders, and provide needed assistance.

If you are hunkering down for #i-SEW-lation, we offer shipping for online and phone orders, as well as in-store pick up.  Our warehouse can also offer curb-side pickup for those who request it and order ahead online.  We will call you when the order is ready for pick up.

If you need a rush order, please contact us prior to placing the order.  We will do a stock check and let you know when we estimate the order will be shipped.

Our Vogue Fabrics Catalog division is filling orders as quickly as possible, but we request you allow extra time for processing while we work with fewer staff members on site.  With fewer Customer Service reps to answer phones, please use the Contact Us form whenever possible and we will continue to answer emails through the night and weekend to best serve you.

In the effort to minimize our social impact and maximize effect on social distancing we have done the following:
1.       Suspended all current sewing classes. Current registrants have been contacted.
2.       Postponed all future sewing classes.
3.       Cancelled our yearly March Store Sales Event.
4.       Canceled travel to upcoming trade shows.
5.       We are monitoring the situation and are evaluating the May 15-16 WH Sale for postponement .

This is a challenging time for all of us and we are committed to making the right choices to minimize the impact this virus is having on our world, while continuing to provide you, our valued customers, with the service our business was built on. Thank you for your past and continued support.

Sincerely,
The Sussman Family
