IF161-18 Enlightened Blocks - Amber and Rust on Midnight Abstract Balinese Cotton Batik Fabric. 100% Cotton. Cold wash, air dry. 43" wide. Priced per yard.

Hoffman of California’s cotton batiks from Bali are a superior option to many others on the market today. These are hand dyed, hand stamped, and laid out in the sun to dry, 15 yards at a time. The stamping creates irregular repeats in the design, which adds character to the overall appearance. “Enlightened Blocks” began as a fantastic blend of amber, rust, emerald and garnet which were then stamped with wax in the block pattern. When the wax dried, forming a protective coating, the fabric was colored with a dark dye and set to dry again. The wax was then removed with hot water to reveal the underlying base colors.
