This maroon silk fabric is a slubby, textured silk suiting material used in evening wear, bridal gowns and special occasion garments in addition to light home decorating. Often the weft and warp are woven from different colors to give a wonderful iridescent quality. Silk is a natural fibre. This fabric is beautiful, but it is really a dark red fabric, not the eggplant purple color it appears in the photo.
