Tori Richard Cotton Prints

From fashion designer Tori Richards comes Quake Fractals and Quake Waves (SR215-24), two soft, combed cotton shirtings.  She primarily uses these for camp shirts, but we think they could look very cool together in a pieced garment, like Sewing Workshop’s Hibiscus Shirt.  The iced purple and grey colors are wearable all year long. (Please note - we show the front panels of the Hibiscus shirt with Quake Waves cut on the bias to match the angle of the shirt's design. If you want to do this, order extra yardage)

A non-floral print from Tori Richard is Lu’au Mosaic, which picks up the aqua and sand of our preceding solids to compliment the navy and royal colors in its frenetic design.  We picture it being worn as a Hawaiian style Aloha shirt with slacks tailored from Lu’au Herringbone in navy poly-cotton (VF223-35), and topped by a simple sweater sewn from Lu’au Dunes acrylic blend sweater knit (VF223-36).  How’s that for a quickie outfit to wear all summer?

Treat Filigree, a handsome and dark Tori Richard combed cotton print, is a definite break from her popular Aloha Shirt prints.  If you take inspiration from our images and make Dana Marie’s Kimono Jacket, we recommend black Kona Cotton as your lining to give it the weight it needs, and use the Kona as contrast pieces as well.
