Now for something unusual.  Behold Chá Branches, featuring stems and leaves splayed across an white linen base cloth.  Alternating stipes of looser and tighter weaving provide a textural flair.  We chose this as a companion to the following beige linen blend. Sew a loose summer jacket or over-shirt, a lined summer dress, or drawcord pants to wear over your bathing suit while hanging with friends.

Chay Blocks is the coral version of the printed linen featured in our first collection (IF213-05).  Choose this linen for sewing into a fashion tunic to wear with Capris sewn from the herringbone (IF213-31) to produce a “no-brainer” wonderful summer outfit when you just want to enjoy a bit of wine and conversation with friends in the backyard. Hula Foam is a white rayon and linen blend that has a wonderfully summer brightness to it.  The amount of rayon in this fabric tones down the typical linen wrinkles, so you can have the look of linen without the creases. You can dry clean it to retain its original look, or you can wash and dry it to soften it for a more casual look. The weight is ideal for lightweight tops (you may want a tank or bandeau under it), or stitch it into drawcord pants to wear to the pool or beach.  It will also be wonderful as an embroidered, lined sundress.

Vista Golden blends linen and rayon in a beautiful dark yellow linen-weave.  Tailor a light summer jacket and slacks, craft a sack dress to toss on for a day at the pool, or sew a sarong to pair with Vista Florets, a lightweight, textured knit printed with tiny golden flowers.  You can either dry clean the fabric to retain the original characteristics, or washout to give it a softer, more casual look.

If you aren’t ready to start sewing for fall, pick up some of Cacao Lilac, a pale hue of a popular linen blend.  You can wash this to give it a softer, more casual appearance, or dry clean to keep its original characteristics. We think this would be great as Great Copy’s Maui Pants, and Sewing Workshop’s Gardenia dress - embroider or embellish the fabric for added interest.

Catacombs Sand, a 5 ounce European Linen, is part of our Euro Linen collection that has been so popular in our retail store.  It is a lightweight woven option for lined slacks or jacket, or an unlined top.  To retain the crispness, dry clean.  But if you prefer a more casual vibe, toss it in the wash and it will soften the feel as well as tighten the weave while it shrinks down a bit, making it ideal for comfy beachcomber pants.

The red-orange and leaf green threads of this cross-woven European linen provide a calming, yet interesting, foil to the bold print. Linens have been a huge seller for us, even through the winter months, especially the two-tone cross-wovens.  Louvre Citrine mixes a yellow warp with alternating turquoise and pale lime weft threads.  Louvre Plum (VF232-43) mingles indigo and pomegranate.  Both look smashing with Louvre Motif (VF232-44), a surprisingly soft rayon jersey knit packed with wonderful colors in staggered medallions on navy blue.
