To further accentuate the bold colors of the previous printed linen (VF212-34), we chose Chay Fuchsia as a companion fabric.  Previously featured in pale indigo (VF212-21), this medium-weight woven will prove to be a wonderful choice for sewing slacks, dresses, skirts, shorts, dresses, and a camp shirt to wear over a lightweight blouse when there is a slight chill to the air.

We love the texture of the crinkles, drape, and fluidity of this fun fabric called Cocktail Krystal.  This semi-sheer knit has all-way stretch and a slight shimmering flair.  For modesty, wear it over a tank top of the punch cotton jersey.

Rickey Royale is a stretch woven bottom weight, wrinkle resistant fabric from our After Five New York collection (in our retail store).  Tailor some smart separates for your wardrobe, like a jacket, dress, skirt and slacks, so you have options when you need something a little dressier for a meeting, dinner date, or fall and winter holiday parties.This fabric has slightly more stretch along the grain than across, so it is your choice if you would like to cut your sewing pattern out across the grain to have a little more stretch going around your body.  Wear this with it's companion prints from the Rickey Collection, seen in the Related Items below.

Tap into your romantic side when you dream about wearing the next two fabrics.  Begin with Spa Splendor (VF215-10), a beautiful burgundy corded lace with scalloped edges, and make sure you order Spa Sheen to go with it.  You don’t have to be a couturier to sew a stretch satin dress topped by a lace overlay.  If you prefer something more sporty, sew a shell from the satin and knock out Liesl’s Verdun Woven T-shirt pattern out of the lace - use the scallops as the bottom hem at the waist and the sleeves.

If you live in warmer climates, whip up a cap sleeve top and slacks of the Milano to wear with a long Kimono inspired robe stitched from a combination of Pliny Blossoms (VF215-31) and Pliny Silky.  The floral print is a fluid, bubble crepe georgette, which will be the focus fabric of your robe, and the silky salmon is a dull hammered satin that will look lovely as the collar, cuffs, and hem border.

Our second faux suede in this catalog, Comet Imposter, is much more substantial than the lightweight brown knit we featured earlier.  That’s because this is a luxury suede made in Japan for the fashion house Theory.  We picked it up as designer deadstock.  Yardage is limited, so if you like this, make sure to order early.

For all of you who love Kaufman’s Arietta, feel our Treat Onyx.  This firm ponte de Roma double knit is  priced 25% less than the Arietta in our retail store.  The catch?  We can’t get more of this, so order it before everyone else does. Construct a princess seamed sheath dress, straight skirt, or a knit jacket and slacks. Stay away from patterns that call for fabrics with drape. If you choose to work with a pattern made for wovens, you will be able to size down because of the 35% all-way stretch.
