We couldn’t resist adding this cotton-rich, lightweight jersey knit.  At 66” wide, Diverse Savannah will only need one yard for sewing most short sleeve tops. The underlying knit is styled on a subtle diagonal, which is a background design effect - the print is not on a diagonal.  Line up the grainline of your pattern pieces parallel to the selvages.

Anthozoa Waters is a pale variation of the stronger aqua in the tweed (VF233-18), and it is the slightly more minty version of the robin’s egg blue crepe in the previous collection (VF233-15). Anthozoa Seabreeze stretch lace can be oriented either lengthwise or crosswise. For wearing as a knit fabric: lay your pattern pieces out width-wise rather than lengthwise, allowing the stretch to wrap around your body. To calculate the yardage you need, simply lay your pattern pieces out side by side and measure the widest part from left to right. You will need less fabric this way, and at $5.99 per yard, you can take a chance sewing outside your comfort level. For sewing without the stretch: lay your pattern pieces out either lengthwise or widthwise. We recommend using VF233-19 Anthozoa Waters as a fashion lining with body.

Seersucker has been so hard to come by this summer, but we found two for this collection! Bane Multi should be lined for a loose dress, or craft an unlined tunic to wear over a tank top or bandeau. The colored stripes are each 1.875” wide, the white stripes are 11/16” wide, and the total repeat of the color pattern is 8.875”.  This fabric is a great value, at 62” wide and only $5.99 per yard.

Because there is more stretch running the length of the fabric, we recommend you lay your pattern pieces out crosswise instead of lengthwise to take advantage of that, as well as the scalloped edges for easy and sophisticated hems.
