The momme is based on the standard width of a 45” wide fabric.

Although silk is regularly produced in 54” width and uncommonly in even larger widths. For this guide we are basing our weights on a 45” fabric.

Gazar – Satin Faced Organza- 14mm

Crepe de Chine- 16mm

Charmeuse- 19mm

Dupioni- 34mm

4 Ply- 40mm

Silk Gauze- 3 to 5mm

Double Georgette- 16- 19mm

Raw Silks, Matka, Tweeds- 35-45mm
